Friends of Science Education
The SciEnTeK-12 Foundation's Mission is to “ Excite Young Minds about Science ”
Our mission takes us well beyond the science fair and Funfest. We have embraced and supported the the Science Olympiad, the Physics Factory, and of course our affiliation with Science Service brings us into the International Science-Engineering Fair and Discovery Channel Young Scientist Challenge and the Intel Talent Search. So we cover several programs and are continually looking for opportunities to excite young minds about science education.
One of our most exciting recent events is the creation of a Scholarship and Awards Endowment Fund. We have $280,000 in existing endowment funds and a goal of $1,000,000 by 2011. Once the goal is reached, we intend to fund $50,000 in scholarships and other awards annually.
Our Friends of Science Education program is a new concept to help our Board of Directors receive advice from our customers (students, teachers, parents, volunteers, judges and those simply interested in science education).
