Mandatory Approvals

Parents should be aware that for projects involving Human Subjects, Vertebrate Animals, Human or Animal Tissues, Recombinant DNA, Potentially Pathogenic Organisms, or Hazardous Substance, Devices or Activities MUST obtain project approval by the SRC/IRB prior to starting the project.  This includes projects involving classmates, pets, fire, guns, ammunition or explosives of any kind.

The project board and materials on the table at SARSEF are also limited to certain rules for safety and protection of both the visiting public and fellow exhibitors.  See the Display and Safety Rules for details.  Why no containers of liquid, soil, or plants?  First, because they are mandated by our national affiliation with Science Service, but also because these substance can be spilled and ruin a project as well as a neighboring board, in addition to posing safety hazards (liquids, glass, etc.).
