Liz is a recent Graduate of the University of Arizona majoring in Psychology and Ecology & Evolutionary Biology.  She is now working on her Masters Degree at St. Andrews University in Scotland.  She has been a participant and winner at the science fair for the past ten years.  She has been an active volunteer with the Jane Goodall Foundation, the Sonoran Sea Aquarium, SciEnTeK-12 Foundation, Katrina Relief Effort, and class President.  She is an accomplished actress and dancer.

Dr. Bethel is the new Director of SARSEF and Chair Elect for the SciEnTeK-12 Foundation. She serves on the International Science Advisory Board for the Society for Science and the Public. Dr. Bethel is the State Leader for Destination ImagiNation, Inc. Dr. Bethel was the Principal of Los Ranchitos Elementary School, Sunnyside School District.  She has a doctorate in education administration; she brings several years of teaching at the elementary and middle school level, and has been an advocate of science education.

Consumer Affairs Director, Tucson Electric Power Company.  For the past 13 years, Ms. Bolding has been at TEP where she currently manages outreach for a variety of solar, environmental and educational programs, as well as programs designed for special needs and low-income customers.  A 15-year public school veteran, Betsy taught high school English and Journalism until 1978.  After co-managing his campaign in Tucson, Betsy served for the next 8 years on Governor Bruce Babbitt’s staff as director of his Tucson office.

Mr. Chesser, a retired supervisor from the Tucson Police Department in Technical Support and Risk Management, also served in various other specialties including helicopter pilot.  He is a Past District Governor of Rotary International and Past-President of the Tucson High Magnet School Site Leadership Council.   He has served on the Board of Directors of Catalina (Tucson) Rotary Club and TROT.  He was also Special Presenter for the TUSD National Science Foundation sponsored DESERT Project. For the last 10 years, Al has been a SARSEF judge and judging team leader.

Dr. Dresher is Principal, WHD Consulting and former Dean of the College of Mines, University of Arizona.  He is retired from the positions of President, International Copper Research Association, Inc. and Vice President of Technology, International Copper Association, Ltd.  An internationally recognized expert in the processing, products and environmental aspects of copper, Dr. Dresher has mainly focused on bringing good science and technology to these subjects.

Jack is retired from The University of Arizona as Professor Emeritus, Arid Lands Resource Sciences.  He held several positions including Associate Dean of Science and Director of the Flandrau Science Center from which he retired in 1998.  He held various engineering positions with Humphrey Inc., Martin-Marietta Corp., and the Jet Propulsion Laboratory.

Dr. Johnson is an Associate Veterinary Specialist in University Animal Care and an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Dept of Veterinary Science and Microbiology, The University of Arizona.  Paula serves on the SARSEF committee, and as the Chair of the Scientific Review Committee and Chief Judge.  She also serves on the International Science and Engineering Fair Scientific Review Committee.

Sharon O’Neal is a Senior Engineering Fellow at Raytheon Missile Systems. She has held numerous leadership roles at Raytheon including Program Management, Department Management, and IPT Leadership. She is considered to be a technical expert in the field of embedded software development.

Sharon began her career with Raytheon / Hughes Missile Systems more than 22 years ago. She has a BS degree in Computer Science, graduating Magna Cum Laude from California State University in 1984. She earned a

MS degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Southern California in 1991.
